Looking Forward: Sushis, Sashimis, and Sumo

We just booked our hotels for up coming trip to Japan last night/early this morning. I am so stoked!  We were supposed to course it through our travel agent however her email quotations for the hotel rate sent major shockwaves through this blogger's heart.  Thank gawd for Agoda.com.  We got to the stay at the same business hotels for a fraction of the price, imagine it was $150-$200 lower per night! Think of all the sushi we could have eaten with those $$$!

Speaking of sushis I can't wait to have lunch at Gonpachi in Tokyo.  I have been eyeing their menu for the longest time now and I'm just three weeks away from satisfying my earthy cravings.

Countdown: 3 months to go

After a year of being engaged, 8 months of trying to plan the perfect wedding... it is officially just

90 Days before D-Day!

Our wedding partners in crime:

Wedding Gown: Veluz Reyes (love love love love, what more can I say???)

Contact details: www.veluzreyes.blogspot.com

Groom's Tux: Randy Ortiz (The fiance saw an acquaintance wearing a Randy Ortiz suit on this one wedding we attended and immediately he was smitten.  This was one of the only things I remember him insisting upon.  So we didn't meet with any other designers for him.  Just like a good pair of CK underwear, it was Randy Ortiz or nothing at all apparently hee)

Contact Info: 0922-6006449, Office is at K-6th street Kamias, Quezon City

Entourage Couturier: Frankie De Leon (He did most of the bridal entourage for my sister's friends so I'm very confident with his designs and skills)

Contact Info: 0917-3999828; Shop is located at 1585 Eureka St., Makati City

Make up artist: Cathy Cantada.  Highly recommended by my gown designers Veluz and Niko plus she's a friend of Jean so was able to get a tinsy winsy discount.

Contact Info: 0917-8516608

Caterer: Gloria Mariz (I originally wanted to get Le Souffle but this was the only one thing that my future father in law insisted upon and so...)  We booked from the Greenhills branch.  I'm a bit antsy about the whole outside catering thing.  We still haven't finalized the menu with Gloria Mariz, because my MIL has been very busy the past few months. Hope to settle this before she and the fiance leaves for China next week.

Contact Info: 0917-5374841 look for Rodel

Photographer/Videographer: Niceprint Photography (One of the very first suppliers we booked)

Contact Info: 6365505 look for Judith

Invitation: Printlane (very happy with Beth, she is by fat the most accommodating printer we've sought out) - - of course that's not ours (below) heehee

We're in the middle of closing the "deal" with another supplier. September is going to fly by so fast with all the wedding details we have to attend to plus history is not on our side. September has pretty much been the most hectic month for the fiance and I's social life. Sigh, sometimes I wish I really was anti-social! Or better yet, sometimes I wish I was Ms. M-I-A in parties. 90 days and counting... let the madness begins!

Wedding Update: Much Ado About STDs

Happy happy.. I finally got to printout our save the date cards. Thanks to dear BFF Carol for taking care of the design. It's absolutely adorable and completely meshes with our wedding theme.

With so many important and not so important engagements people are tending to, Save The Date cards are fast becoming popular nowadays. It is usually given months before the release of the wedding invitation especially to people who are a bit forgetful (ahem ahem tong!) or to those who frequently travel or coming elsewhere.

Printed fifty copies to hand out this weekend. :)

It's officially116 days before THE WEDDING. Let the insanity begin!

Countdown: 22 Days to go before December

December has always been a packed month. Definitely fun but it can and do cause quite a lot of stress plotting out in your calendar the number of Christmas dinners and errands you have to tend to over the holiday. Sigh 10 years ago - I only had two dinners to worry about - family and HS friends... But you grow older, and your circle seems to get wider and this fact is magnified even more during the holidays.

I am hoping Dear Fiance's friends schedule their holiday celebrations as early as the 6th. Otherwise, I will be a 10-minute wonder at their party yet again! Seeing that I might not have enough time this December I already started with my Christmas shopping as early as now. Bought gazillion of chocolates for Dear Fiance's friends. Yes - I have decided, unlike last year, to mass purchase gifts for his friends. Afterall who can say no to chocolates right (and yes, it saves me a good deal of headaches)

Now to if only I can come up with the perfect gift ideas everyone: for the gang, the officemates, the parents, the siblings and for the X number of Kris Kringle thingies that I have to join.

47 DAYS to go before CHRISTMAS!

Current Obsession: My Little Angel

Ok, my sister's little angel is more accurate

Before leaving for yet another day tripping to Tagaytay later this afternoon, i just wanted to upload a couple of cutesy images courtesy of my ever growing but always adorable niece. She will be turning 1 two months from now. And dear god-parent moi is getting excited with party planning for her celebration!

Sigh how time flies...she was just this small before..

But now...look at her, she's already a rockerstar princess!

Looking Forward: November 29, 2009 - The BIG day

You opened the papers and global depression or economic meltdown headlines are what greets you. While being plunge into circa 1920s poverty state is frightening enough, the thought is doubly magnified when you are planning to get married in the near future. Certain ideas pop into your mind - do you minimize wedding expense to stave off future starvation? Afterall it's just one day compared to the rest of your lives, right? But then - you go watch the Us Girls special of Cheska Garcia's wedding and you realize - hell - the inner girly girl in you wants all that! The over the top frou-froup wedding!

And since you and Dear Fiance were finally able to find a date for your wedding - (thank you feng sui gods - that only took you 4 and half months -huff and puff! at the rate you were first going i thought Dear Fiance would have been given a chance to change his mind!! :P ) anyway, since the drama that was finding the date is officially closed you have taken the first steps to bridezilladom. Bring on the OC-fested gnatt chart, the theme and motif pegs, the powerpoint and colored print outs and so much more that Dear Fiance has openly verbalized, probably fearing bridezilla tantrums in the future, that when it comes to the frou frou and the design ideation he will just be in it for the ride, or to be exact he will just be nodding along throughout the ride. Granted - your OC-fested gnatt chart would make room for cost visibility for him. Oh darn!
