Movie Watch: A Journey Home

This year has been pretty awesome in terms of the gang's career.  After BFF's magazine launch, another friend makes us mighty proud with his new movie.

So last Saturday, dearest friend, Kwai kwai, invited us to the movie premiere of "A Journey Home".  It's an indie film directed by Paul Soriano and produced by dear friend Kwai.  Turns out he was MIA for the most part of July to September because of his super dedication to this pet project.

The story is pretty straight-forward.  Dad comes back after years of absence and is now trying to make ammends to the kids he left behind.  Love the fact that while the story is laden with very heavy subject matter, Soliman Cruz managed to not go over the top with the drama and brilliantly pulls back for a lot of laughs.

Starring: Soliman Cruz (the daddy of Judy Ann Santos in the Saklolo Sakali movies), Toni Gonzaga, Joem Bascon and that cute girl from the Carmela Homes bulilit commercials.

“A Journey Home,” has been approved for competition in the Gideon Flame Christian Film Festival. It is also being reviewed by the Cinemanila Film Festival.

The film, though, is not for commercial release.  Anyone interested in booking for screening to youth groups or other organization do contact the Jubilee Evangelical Church group.
